In a tightly contested Week 2 matchup between Lincoln-Way East (Associated Press’ No. 2 team in Class 8A) and Maine South (No. 1), every single play added up. In the end, two huge defensive plays by the Griffins are what made the difference as they held on for a 28-26 win in Park Ridge to improve to 2-0 on the season.
