The concept of "paying it forward" can manifest in many ways. It can take the form of a large act of generosity, such as covering the medical bills for a neighbor or a loved one in need, or a small gesture of kindness such as paying for someone else's coffee.
And it can also appear as a physical donation, as shown by the recent success of the Facebook page "It's All About the Dress. Pay It Forward," a group in which women donate dresses to others in their community — including those who might otherwise have difficulty affording them.
