If a picture tells a thousand words, a collection of artwork surely contains enough stories to fill a library.

That's the concept behind the Frankfort Public Library District's Self-Portrait Project, which invites Frankfort residents to participate in workshops and create images of themselves using a variety of mediums, such as paintings, collages and digital photography. The completed artwork will be on display at the library throughout the month of November, and there is also a gala celebration scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 11.
