They say that love can be fleeting, fickle.

The literal paper hearts of our Valentine’s Day Coloring Contest lend credence to the idea that love can be a fragile thing — easily torn to bits, subject to fade.

But we think that’s a terribly negative way to look at the world. We prefer to see the flashes of color that come of it. We realize you can always tape that heart back together, and maybe it earns some character, as a result.

Fleeting? Sometimes fickle? Sure. But better to have loved and lost and all that.
