As he watched the smiles of the athletes participating in the 36th annual Kiwanis Games, Paul “Doc” Balducci knew it was a special day.

The annual event, held Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Lincoln-Way East Field House, gave area residents with special needs an opportunity to show their skills. Balducci, a New Lenox resident and a founding member of the Kiwanis Club of Frankfort, has made these athletes his life.
