What compels a person to give up the relative comfort of a life in the United States, the familiarity and security of his or her surroundings, the sense of peace that comes from knowing loved ones are easily within reach?

For Mokena resident and Lincoln-Way East Class of 2016 alum Tommy Kolovos, the answer is obvious: to help make the world a better place for all of us who call it home.
