It is not easy to ask for help. I will be the first to admit that, as I have experienced it firsthand back when I was growing up and my mom fell on some hard times financially.

The stereotype of those who struggle depicts jobless and homeless individuals who are “lazy,” unwilling to work for a living, reliant on “handouts” from the state and other organizations and “abusers” of the system. I challenge that stereotype.
