Just a few short weeks ago things were looking great for both the Lincoln-Way East and Lockport Township boys basketball teams.

But, fortunes can turn quickly in high school basketball, and when the two teams met last week, both entered with three-game losing streaks.

Well, it was the host Porters that broke out of their doldrums in a big way. Fresh off his recent college commitment, Matt Hatzopoulis led a balanced attack with 16 points as Lockport defeated the Griffins 68-38 in a SouthWest Suburban Conference Blue Division matchup on Feb. 6 at Lockport.
