Lincoln-Way East students and staff wore their favorite jerseys, many of them hockey jerseys, on Oct. 3 and Friday, Oct. 4 in order to show their support for senior Peyton Bruns.

Bruns plays hockey for the Chicago Young Americans. According to Lincoln-Way District 210 spokesperson Jen Hannon, Bruns was playing in a game Sept. 29 when he slid out of control while going after a loose puck, sliding into the boards with his head down, breaking his C5 and C6 spinal vertebrae.
