If you’re going to start what could be a special season, then you want to do it as early as possible.

The Lincoln-Way East baseball team, which returns 13 players from last season’s successful squad, did just that and got off to a hot start last week.

According to Illinois High School Association rules, the earliest day a baseball game could be scheduled this season was Mach 11. Well, that day East played a baseball game.
